Keynote: dr. monique liston, Ubuntu Research & Evaluation
In the tapestry of systems-level evaluation, the Michigan Association for Evaluation (MAE) invites a diverse spectrum of stakeholders, ranging from evaluators and students to community members and funders, to embark on a journey with us. Together we will explore how systems-level evaluation can transform our understanding and practice of evaluation itself, in addition to promoting social change and betterment.
Systems-level evaluation assists all stakeholders in navigating the complexities of context, collaborating, and measuring systemic impact. A key aspect of this approach challenges us to reduce silos by working across disciplines and organizations; collaborate and co-create with community members and those impacted by an issue; consider multiple levels of a problem; and reassess traditional success metrics, which often prioritize quantitative methods over more integrated and multidimensional approaches. By questioning conventional measures, we advocate for a broader, more inclusive perspective on success—a perspective integral to systems-level evaluation, one that underscores comprehensive insights.
